Artist's Bio

Matviy Vaisberg was born in Kyiv in 1958. Studied in the Republican Art school in 1970-1977 in the studios of O. Abramov and E. Semenov; at Ukrainian Poligraphy Institute in Kyiv in 1977-1985, department of book illustration, studio of M. Valuyenko. Vaisberg is a founder of “Ariergard” movement that developed its intellectual-esthetics in the 1980s within the late-Soviet and early postmodern “imitational” Kyiv art influences. He lives and works in Kyiv.
