Artist's Bio

Jacques Hnizdovsky first came to the United States of America in 1949 and became a citizen in 1954. Hnizdovsky exhibited in New York and Paris and his paintings have been included in such major group exhibitions as those of the Salon des Artistes Francais in Paris, 1957, Provincetown Art Festival in 1958, Allied Artists of America in 1958, and in 1959 his work has been shown at the Audubon Artists University of Illinois and the Butler Institute of American Art.

First recognition of his graphic work came at the Minneapolis Institute of Art in 1950. This was followed by a Purchase Award by the Library of Congress. His graphic works has been exhibited at the Society of American Graphic Artists in New York and the National Print Shows in New Britain, Connecticut and the Albright Gallery of Buffalo, New York.
