Artist's Bio

Olexa Mann was born in Algeria in 1978. He is a contemporary Ukrainian artist, blogger, curator and writer. Mann graduated from Dnipropetrovsk Art College and Lviv National Academy of Arts, department of monumental painting. He took part in art projects such as “Zombie Land”, “New Anthropology”, “New Middle Ages.” He is a member of art group “Volia abo Smert” and a founder of art group “Bacteria.” The artist participated in civil protests on Maidan of Independence in Kyiv in 2013-2014 and contributed to “Mystetsky Barbakan” street exhibitions. Most recently his works were exhibited at “Stand with Ukraine” exhibition organized by Museum of Russian Art that took place at 4 West 43rd Street in Manhattan during April 14-19, 2015. The artist lives and works in Kyiv.
